The T-90MS MBT is a new-generation high-tech weapon system developed drawing on century-long experience gained in world and Russian tank-building industries, lessons learned from combat use of tanks in various countries around the world, studies and analysis of their field service and intensive trials in the most severe environments.
The T-90MS tank provides fire support to motorized infantry units, destroys enemy firing points, fortifications and armored vehicles.

The tank is equipped with a new turret weapon station with an upgraded 125 mm gun, a new fire control system and a new remote-controlled machine gun mount. The tank has modular composite armor and explosive reactive armor (ERA) providing better protection.
The T-90MS tank boasts the highest structural reliability. It has built-in self-entrenching equipment, can be fitted with mine-clearing equipment and transported by all modes of transport.

Protection and Design
The T-90MS tank has inherited the multi-level protection philosophy. It has retained a low silhouette and low optical and thermal signatures typical of Russian tanks and is fitted with an automated smoke screening system. It carries a new modular ERA system. A collective protection system ensures the efficient use of the tank in a NBC environment.
Mobility
The T-90MS features improved mobility and steering achieved through the installation a higher-power engine, automatic gear shift control and a steering wheel.

The T-90MS has acquired a contemporary level of protection and survivability while retaining a low silhouette, optimal weight, high mobility and capability to cross the most difficult obstacles at high speed in stride that are traditional for Russian tanks.

Armament
The main armament of the T-90MS tank is a 125 mm enhanced-accuracy smoothbore gun with a built-in boresighting system and a quick-release barrel. It is stabilized in two planes and loaded by an autoloader.

The T-90MS tank is equipped with a guided missile system intended for engagement of armored targets, including those fitted with ERA at ranges of up to 5 km.
A new FCS provides target detection, identification and engagement using the gunner and commander's multispectral sights at the halt and on the move, day or night.
